The 20th edition of the FIM Central Africa Motocross championship was on good Friday April 18,2025 launched SS Hotel in Makerere Kikoni.
The championship started in2005 in Lubiri, Mengo as the East African Motocross Championship between two neighboring countries Kenya and Uganda and later evolved into the FIM Central Africa Championship.

Kenya dominated the two-leg event winning both legs at Home and away in Uganda till 2010 when Uganda started winning the home leg but lost the away leg in Jamhuri racing park in Nairobi, Kenya.
However, in 2012 Uganda built a formidable team led by team captain Arthur Blick Jr. They assembled a squad dominated by youngstars including, Maxime van Pee, Ali Omar Yasser, Alistair Blick, Paddy Blick, Wazir Omar, Waleed Omar, Milton Akaki, Michael Ntairo, Michael Sekubomba, Ahmed Tamale, the Orland brothers Aviv and Stav Orland.
The Senior racers that backed up Arthur Blick in the open class categories include Asaf Natan, Barak Orland and Van Pee senior.
That is squad that silenced the continent in the FIM Motocross of African Nationals (FIM MXOAN) at the Motorsport Arena in Busiika, Luwero district.
Uganda won its first and only FIM MXOAN championship and that was also the begining of Uganda dominating the regional championship (FIM CAC).
Since then Uganda has won the FIM CAC with Kenya coming second.
Launching the 20th edition of the regional meet, on Good Friday in Makerere the Federation of Motorsport Club of Uganda (FMU) deputy vice president in charge of motorcycling Arthur Blick Jr, lauded the parents who have kept the spirit high.
Blick was also confident that Uganda will emerge victorious at the event that is hosted at Smart Beach in Mityana district on Holy Saturday and Sunday.
“It is 20years since the begining of the FIM CAC. We started it Lubiri mengo during my term as DVP in 2005. Kenya won but todate Uganda is top of the form and I am confident we shall win,” Blick Noted.
The Saturday and Sunday event in Mityana will have Tanzania as the only foreign team participating in the event as a guest side.
Tanzania, a developing side under the supervision of Uganda will be competing in the regional event as they await their affiliation process at the continental and world stage.
Kenya the traditional rivals of Uganda will miss out on the first leg pending their leadership struggle in Kenya Motorsport that has created two factions battling court.
This sends a message to Uganda as we implement the 2023 Sports Act and 2025 sports regulations that the stipulated arbitration tribunal must be in position to dispose off sports matters very fast to avoid parties seeking litigation in the civil courts.
