Over 100 safety marshals have been trained in a refresher course held in Ndeeba Town on Jonan Luwum Day Febuary 16,2026.
The training was done to equip motorsport safety marshals in Uganda in preparation for the Motorsport Calendar that kicked off on Febuary 7th, 2026 with the national motocross championship.
Last year, two incidents happened during and after a motorsport event that affected the lives of spectators.

According to Hajji Hamidu Gombe the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) the training aims to equip the federation human resource team with safety tips and skills to manage the federation calendar activities.
This year non-should happen and the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) has embarked on refresher courses to strengthen Safety protocols during the events.
In a safety workshop held in Ndebba town on Jonan Luwum Day, safety marshals were taken through safety tips by ASSP Hussein Nsobya, Dr. Derrick Komakech and Pearl of Africa Rally Clerk of the Course (COC) Kisitu Mayanja.

The marshals were taught how to respond to the different situations including accidents and also crowd control skills during the activities starting with the Mbale rally next month.
“Always be observant and familiar with the environment you are posted in. There might be sabotagers who want to cause trouble during an event. So, you have to be careful when posting during an event,” ASSP Nsobya said.
He urged the federation and Marshals to regularly involve Police in the organisation of the events which help them to organise an event professionally.
Dr. Oketch appealed to the organisers to deploy highly qualified medical personels and standard ambulances for effective emergency response.
The workshop organised by FMU in conjunction with theUganda Motorsport Safety Marshals Association (UMSMA) was also attended by FMU general Secretary Reynold Kibira, UMSMA president Roanld Batalaze and FMU Safety official Jamil Mukyakaze.
