The excitement and Entertainment of motorsport seems to dying a natural death and especially in Africa.

The question, what is the Confederation of Africa Motorsport (CAMS) doing to protect the rallying in Africa from death has failed to be answered.

This has left the more unanswered questions including whether the body exists and if yes where is the headquarters and who its officials and when do their term of office expiring to pave way for a more vibrant working team.

The down fall of rallying in Africa started before Covid when the number of entrants started dwindling with only Leroy Gomez coming from Zambia, Manvir Baryan from Kenya, Yasin Nasser and Jas Mangat from Uganda, No Rwandese, no Burundian, no Ivorian.

What followed was countries failing to host the continental events citing financial challenges. Indeed, Countries were right. Whereas they pay huge sums of affiliation in Euros, they get nothing from the world motor rallying governing body FIA in terms of support.

Unlike their Motorcycling counterparts (FIM) and soccer (FIFA) who support financially federations organising continental events, this not the case with FIA and CAMS.

What the FIA have been focused on making money from the car manufacturers and coming up with several stringent measures in terms homologated cars which has weakened the Africa rally Championship a natural death.

Next year, instead of the usual six events ARC will only feature four outings just like it was in the 2024 season.

The 2025 ARC edition start with Kenya Equator Rally due March 20- 23rd, 2025 and will be followed by the Pearl of Africa Uganda rally.

The third round will be the Burundi International rally (August 15- to 17, 2025 and then the Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally (September 12- 14 2025) will climax the ARC contests for the continental silverware.
