Uganda last won the FIM Motocross of Africa Nations (FIM Africa MXOAN) in 2012 in Busiika.

They later came close winning it 2016 Kenya and 2024 in Morocco when they finished second to Kenya and south Africa respectively.

This year 2025, the continental event returns to Kenya, the hosts target taking it for the second time but that cannot scare Uganda who has better profiled riders.

Arthur Blick Junior the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda deputy vice president in charge of motorcycling noted that plans are underway to reclaim the title won when he was the team captain.

“The MXOAN will be in Kenya mid-August,2025, but that is not the most important. What is important is that we have time to prepare strong team and my dreams are to win it again,” the former team captain told UMOSPOC media.

Blick’s dreams has been boosted by the former team captain Maxime Van pee who will be racing in the MX1 open class this season.

Maxime is an inspirational racer and leader that all the junior riders cherished to associate with as their team captain and lived to expectations fitting well into the shoes of legendary Blick.

Blick added that soon will be unveiling a preparation program for the team starting with improving and raising the quality of the tracks where the national competitions will be held to minimise on injuries.

The National Championships starts with first leg of the eight championships in Kalisizo, Kyotera district next month February 2, 2025.
