The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) leaders are determined to have a better and long lasting constitution that will steer the sport to greater heights.
The clubs earlier last month postponed their consultative meetings with the constitutional review working group to enable them consult more on different issues including governance, management and regulations and coverage of the sport nation wide as per the 2023 Sports Act.
The club leaders felt that there is need to balance the power of governance and set up checks and balances in the constitution if the sport is to grow and develop.
In the process they requested the Constitutional Review Committee Group to give them more time to consult and in deed they have consulted including competitors whom they feel deserve better representation at the different organs of the federation.
They intend to come up with a document with recommendations they intend to give the CRWG to include in the constitution and among those recommendations is the clubs taking charge of the different regions created to champion growth and development.
The Federation has up to June 20,2025 to work on their constitution and comply with the new sports act.
